Rio Bulletin Highlights Six Themes for Corporate Sustainability Forum

The fourth issue of the Rio+20 Corporate Sustainability Forum Bulletin provides updates on preparations for the Forum.

Six themes have been identified, based on their relevance to business and its capacity to provide substantive contributions.

They are: Energy and Climate, Water and Ecosystems, Agriculture and Food, Social Development, Urbanization and Cities, and Economics and Finance.

16 May 2012: The fourth issue of the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20) Corporate Sustainability Forum Bulletin provide updates on preparations for the Forum, titled “Innovation and Collaboration for the Future We Want.” The Forum is expected to include over 100 sessions focused on six themes: Energy and Climate, Water and Ecosystems, Agriculture and Food, Social Development, Urbanization and Cities, and Economics and Finance.

The Bulletin indicates that the UN Global Compact’s Forum, to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 15-18 June 2011, seeks to highlight successful corporate sustainability practices, and catalyze widespread action.

The Bulletin notes that the themes have been identified based on their relevance to business and its capacity to provide substantive contributions. Innovative public-private partnerships, business contributions and new commitments will be showcased for each theme.
