The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP) newsletter contains a variety of news covering renewable energy policy and project developments, financing, energy for all, and upcoming events in the Southeast Asia and the Pacific region.

July 2011: The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP) has published the July issue of its Southeast Asia and the Pacific Newsletter, with news on renewable energy policy and project developments, financing, energy for all, and upcoming events in the region.

The newsletter features articles on, inter alia: REEEP’s advocacy of a long-term vision for increased grid connected renewable energy; the Clean Energy Council’s (CEC) consideration of a working group for co-generation and tri-generation of electricity; new renewable projects and funding of new projects; a notification for organizations working on energy access issues in the region to register with the E4All network; and highlights of energy access activities at REEEP.

The newsletter also indicates that REEEP’s first Director General, Marianne Osterkorn, has announced that she will step down at the end of 2011 after seven years at the healm of REEEP, and New Zealand will be hosting the meeting of the Pacific Islands Forum Leaders from 6-9 September 2011.
