REDD+ Partnership Launches the Voluntary REDD+ Database

The voluntary REDD+ database (VRD) was launched with data collected by Australia, France and Papua New Guinea for the purpose of improving REDD+ transparency.

It is based on voluntary submissions of data on REDD+ funding and associated activities.

4 December 2012: Through the REDD+ Partnership, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO), in collaboration with the UN Environment Programme World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC), have launched an online database of REDD+ investments.

The voluntary REDD+ database (VRD) was launched with data collected by Australia, France and Papua New Guinea for the purpose of improving REDD+ transparency. The VRD also supports the exchange of experiences on REDD+, and the identification of gaps and overlaps in REDD+ investments.

The VRD is populated with data voluntarily submitted by countries and partners with current submissions received from 17 funder countries and 33 REDD+ countries. Data includes pledges and disbursements of REDD+ funding as well as the types of activities funded through REDD+ programmes. [Voluntary REDD+ Database]
