September 2008: The EUROPOLAR ERA-NET Consortium, in
association with the European Science Foundation, has launched the first call
for pre-proposals leading to potential Joint Projects to be undertaken within
the PolarCLIMATE Programme.

This call is supported by 20 ministries and
national funding agencies from 18 European countries, with cooperation from the
US National Science Foundation. Ten million Euros (US$14.9 million) are
committed under three themes covering transnational Arctic and Antarctic research
and access to research infrastructures (Arctic and Antarctic stations, research
vessels and air support). Submissions will be accepted from 26 September to 24
