PAD Journal Focuses on Public Administrations and Sustainability

A special issue of the journal Public Administration and Development, focusing on public administration institutions and organizations in creating a sustainable future, was launched at a symposium during Rio+20.

The issue includes green growth case studies from Southern Africa, and articles on environmental licensing of rural properties in Mato Grasso, Brazil, and sustainability funding mechanisms, among others.

18 June 2012: A special issue of the Public Administration and Development (PAD) journal was launched at a symposium on the sidelines of the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20), hosted by the UN Development Programme (UNDP), the UN University Institute of Advanced Studies (UNU-IAS) and the Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV).

The PAD special issue, titled “Public Administration and Sustainability: The role of public institutions in creating a sustainable future” (August 2012), includes articles on: green growth case studies from Southern Africa; environmental licensing of rural properties in Mato Grasso, Brazil; environmental assessment sector reforms; organizational challenges of policy integration; sustainability funding mechanisms; and information transparency in China’s green growth.
