Pacific Solution Exchange Launches Discussion on Effective Resourcing for Climate Change
story highlights

Discussants are invited to address questions regarding: the types of resources needed to address climate change adaptation and mitigation priorities in Pacific island countries; key constraints in accessing adequate and effective climate change resources; how to improve access to, and management of, climate change resources.

17 November 2010: The Pacific Solution Exchange has launched a facilitated online discussion on the topic of “Effective Resourcing to Address Climate Change,” and is inviting participants to share views, experiences and good practices from within the Pacific, from other Small Island Developing States (SIDS), and internationally, in addressing this issue.

In contributing to the discussion forum, participants are invited to address one or more of the following questions: what types of resources are needed to address climate change adaptation and mitigation priorities in Pacific island countries (PICs)?; what are the key constraints in accessing adequate and effective climate change resources, and effectively managing and utilizing climate change resources when they do become available?; what could PICs and/or development partners do to improve access to climate change resources?; and what could PICs and/or development partners do to improve the management of climate change resources?

The Pacific Solution Exchange connects people who share similar concerns and interests, and brings them together virtually and face-to-face towards the common objective of problem-solving. The UN Development Programme (UNDP), in partnership with the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS), the University of South Pacific (USP) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), are working together to establish the Pacific Solution Exchange by initially offering an email based “e-Discussion”/Consolidated Reply service for knowledge sharing over a six month trial period.
