Pacific Islands Forum Launches e-Newsletter on Climate Change Financing

The Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat has published the first volume of a climate change financing e-newsletter, which reports on several activities, plans and workshops related to climate change financing in the region.

PIFS19 June 2012: The Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS) has launched a new e-Newsletter on Climate Change Financing. The first issue of the e-Newsletter provides a description of the PIFS’ mandate on climate change financing, and highlights several activities undertaken in this area.

The issue features articles on, inter alia: the start of a country case study in Nauru carried out by PIFs on on climate change financing; a regional Adaptation Fund National Implementing Entity (NIE) accreditation workshop in the Pacific; a booklet of ‘practical experiences’ from the Pacific on each of the modalities considered as potential mechanisms for accessing, managing and disbursing climate change resources; the coordination by PIFS of the development of a Terms of Reference (TOR) for the design of a Regional Climate Change Fund; and the launch of the Pacific-EU Plan of Action 2012-2014.
