May 2010: The Development Assistance Committee (DAC) of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has released the “Development Cooperation Report 2010,” which is the key annual reference for statistics and analysis on the latest trends in international aid.

The report notes that, with only five years left to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), the challenges due to the economic, food and climate change crises are mounting. It features a chapter titled “Climate Change: Helping Poor Countries to Adapt,” which examines the DAC members’ role in building climate change adaptation into all levels of planning, from projects to national and sectoral strategies. The report also stresses how aid should be delivered more effectively and how it can contribute to a cleaner growth process in developing countries. [The Report]
