OECD Releases Emission Scenario Document for Wood Preservatives

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has released au updated emission scenario document on wood preservatives, detailing revised and new emission scenarios for wood preservatives.

The document is intended to serve as a tool for estimating chemical emissions from preservative treated wood.

OECD3 June 2014: The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has released au updated emission scenario document on wood preservatives, detailing revised and new emission scenarios for wood preservatives. The document is intended to serve as a tool for estimating chemical emissions from preservative treated wood.

The scenario document considered both: emissions from application and storage of treated wood prior to shipment; and emissions from treated wood in service. The updated version includes new preserving scenarios as well as updated descriptions of wood preserving processes. It also identifies specific changes relevant for Europe.
