ODN and USP Host Capacity Building Workshop for Development Researchers

Young Pacific researchers took part in a Capacity Building workshop at the University of the South Pacific (USP) which was organised by the Oceania Development Network (ODN).

11 November 2011 : The Oceania Development Network (ODN) hosted a two-day capacity building workshop at the University of the South Pacific (USP), regarding the preparation of research proposals.
Attended by representatives from the Pacific region, the workshop took place from 8-9 November 2011, in Suva, Fiji. The workshop focused on mentoring young researchers to develop good research outputs, engage in policy relevant research and explore methodologies to work with policy makers.

The ODN focuses on promotion, generation, sharing and application of multidisciplinary knowledge for the purpose of development, by investing in research by Pacific Islanders. ODN Chairperson Professor Biman Chand Prasad highlighted the need to help develop the research capacity of young researchers in the Pacific islands. [USP Press Release]
