March 2006: The second Nordic Roundtable on Business Relations and Sustainable Consumption and Production in a North/South Perspective has discussed business opportunities and challenges for sustainable consumption and production.

The meeting, which convened from 9-10 March 2006 in Stockholm, Sweden, was organized by the Nordic Ad Hoc Group on Sustainable Consumption and Production. Among the participants’ recommendations were suggestions to communicate sustainable consumption and production measures as positive actions for both private consumers and business and to communicate UNEP’s best practices to the development agencies and update these agencies through newsletters. Based on participants’ discussions, the Ad Hoc Group will complete a report to be presented during the 14th session of the Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD-14) in May 2006.
