Nominations Sought for CBD Central Africa Workshop on NBSAPs

The capacity-building workshop for the updating and revision of national biodiversity strategies and action plans (NBSAPs) for Central African countries will be held in Brazzaville, Congo.

It is part of a series of regional and sub-regional capacity-building workshops organized by the CBD.

12 April 2011: The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) is inviting nominations for a capacity-building workshop for the updating and revision of national biodiversity strategies and action plans (NBSAPs) for Central African countries, to be held from 19-23 June 2011, in Brazzaville, Congo.

Part of a series of regional and sub-regional capacity-building workshops, the workshop will aim to: strengthen national capacities for the development, implementation, review, updating and communication of NBSAPs; help facilitate national implementation of the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020; and translate the Strategic Plan into national targets and commitments.

Nominations by Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic (CAR), Chad, Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Equatorial Guinea, Gabon and Sao Tome and Principe should be submitted to the CBD Secretariat by 6 May 2011. [CBD Notification]
