Nominations Invited for GRASP-Ian Redmond Conservation Award

Announced on the sidelines of the sixteenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on the International Trade of Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES CoP 16), the Great Apes Survival Partnership (GRASP)-Ian Redmond Conservation Award is seeking applications for possible recipients.

March 2013: Announced on the sidelines of the sixteenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on the International Trade of Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES CoP 16), the Great Apes Survival Partnership (GRASP)-Ian Redmond Conservation Award is seeking applications for possible recipients.

The application deadline is 1 September 2013. Established in recognition of the contribution made by Ian Redmond to the survival of great apes and their habitats, the award has been created to recognize the work of African and Asian conservationists in this field. It shall be awarded to a winner from Asian range states and African range states on a biennial basis. The recipients will receive US$11,000 and a commemorative plaque.

The award is supported by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the Born Free Foundation, Conservation International and private donors. [GRASP Press Release] [GRASP-Ian Redmond Conservation Award Webpage]
