New Bioversity International Director General Announces Initiatives

Upon joining Bioversity International as Director General, Ann Tutwiler announced new initiatives and a vision to enhance the organization's work.

The announcements include the new Bridging Agriculture and Conservation Initiative, plans for an informal dialogue to develop options for enhancing the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources (ITPGR), and new grants.

Bioversity International26 July 2013: Upon joining Bioversity International as Director General, Ann Tutwiler has announced new initiatives and a vision to enhance the organization’s work.

The announcements include the new Bridging Agriculture and Conservation Initiative, plans for an informal dialogue to develop options for enhancing the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources (ITPGR), and new grants to countries including Belgium, Brazil and India. Tutwiler comes to Bioversity International following a series of senior roles in the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO), the US Department of Agriculture, and the US Agency for International Development.
