June 2012: The Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency has published the full version of its report, “Roads From Rio+20: Pathways to Achieve Global Sustainability Goals by 2050,” focusing on how to reconcile environmental and development objectives. It also released a web-based application for the report, containing full interactive access to its results, graphs, tables and videos.

The report recalls the poverty eradication and environmental protection vision of the 1992 UN Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED, or Rio Earth Summit) and considers ways to achieve this vision through a set of internationally-agreed sustainable development goals (SDGs) for food, land and biodiversity, and energy and climate.

In addition to the report and “app,” the Agency also released a documentary titled “Roads from Rio – Views from the World of Experts,” in which experts express their hopes and fears on sustainability, as well as potential solutions to the issues.
