8 May 2015: UN Member States held informal consultations on modalities for the Third International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD 3) throughout March, April and May 2015, resulting in draft text A/69/L.62. By this resolution, the UN General Assembly would decide that FfD 3 will include eight plenary meetings and six multi-stakeholder roundtables, held in parallel with the plenary meetings.

Three of the roundtables would focus on the ‘Global partnership and the three dimensions of sustainable development,’ while the other three would take up ‘Ensuring policy coherence and an enabling environment at all levels for sustainable development,’ according to the draft.

The text also notes that the roundtables will be interactive and multi-stakeholder in nature, with each one open to participation by: representatives of all participating States; up to 15 representatives of observers, relevant entities of the UN system and other accredited intergovernmental organizations; up to six representatives of accredited civil society organizations; and up to six representatives of accredited business sector entities. The list of non-State participants will be established on a first-come, first-served, basis.

The modalities specified in this resolution are in addition to those outlined in the initial resolution on modalities for the Conference (A/68/279) and a Note of the UN Secretary-General on organizational arrangements (69/542).
