17 November 2011: The Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC), Pacific Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Programme, has released the fifth issue of its “e-Talanoa” newsletter. The newsletter features developments and project news on ICT from the Pacific region.
The newsletter includes articles on: SPC’s assistance to Kiribati to develop an online presence; the Asia-Pacific Regional Multi-Stakeholder Forum on Emergency Telecommunications; Pacific participation in the Second Asia-Pacific Regional Forum on ICT Human Capacity Development; the success in Niue in providing 90 percent of its population with internet access; and a project being considered by the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to support high speed internet access in Tonga.
