LVBC28 January 2013: The Secretariat of the Lake Victoria Basin Commission (LVBC), with the support of a Canadian consultancy PLAN:NET, has undertaken to implement a Results Based Management System (RBMS) for its work in the region.

Topics to be addressed under the RBMS include applying the Commission’s Results Chain Logic in institutional, programme and project areas. Recent capacity building exercises instructed stakeholders, including national focal points, on developing the Results Logic Model, Performance Measurement Framework and the Risk Analysis and Management Frameworks.

The LVBC’s Strategic Plan for 2011-2016 emphasizes the RMBS as a means of identifing and solving implementation challenges, as well as measuring progress. It is designed to function at the institutional and programme levels of the LVBC.

The LVBC was established under the auspices of the East African Community (ECA) and its member States. [LVBC Press Release]
