© UNApril 2009: The 16th meeting of the Joint Implementation (JI) Supervisory Committee (JISC) has been announced as 17-18 June 2009, at the UN Campus in Bonn, Germany. The Committee, which is the body responsible for issues relating to JI, will consider: the accreditation of independent entities; matters relating to determination and verification reports; the development of a determination and verification manual; the development of definitions, forms, guidelines and procedures for projects under JI programmes of activities; the JI management plan and resources for the work on JI; collaboration of the JISC with others; preparations for the UNFCCC technical workshop on JI for 2009; and elements for the annual report of the JISC to the Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (CMP).

The meeting is open to attendance, as observers, by all Parties and all UNFCCC accredited observers and stakeholders, except where otherwise decided by the JISC. The deadline for registration as an observer is 3 June 2009. The meeting will also be webcast on the UNFCCC web site. The meeting will be preceded by informal consultations on 15 June, and by a roundtable discussion on 16 June. [UNFCCC announcement] [Provisional agenda]
