ITTO Supports Tropical Wood Testing Lab Upgrade in Mexico

A Mexican laboratory for testing of tropical woods has been upgraded and strengthened with funding from the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO).

Project money also went to maintaining and calibrating testing equipment, updating of measuring equipment, and training of personnel.

28 March 2012: An International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO) project has upgraded and strengthened a testing laboratory for tropical woods in Mexico.

ITTO funding also supported the development of quality standards for Mexican primary and processed tropical forest products, in order to enhance national and international competitiveness. Project money also went to maintaining and calibrating testing equipment, updating of measuring equipment, and training of personnel. The project report is only available in Spanish.
