Iran Deposits Acceptance to Amendment to the Kyoto Protocol Annex B

The UNFCCC Secretariat has reported that the Government of Iran has deposited its instrument of acceptance of the amendment to Annex B to the Kyoto Protocol, which concerns the proposal of the Republic of Belarus to amend Annex B to the Kyoto Protocol and to assume a quantified emission reduction commitment.

12 April 2012: The UNFCCC Secretariat has reported that the Government of Iran has deposited its instrument of acceptance of the amendment to Annex B to the Kyoto Protocol, bringing the total number of States and regional economic integration organizations that have deposited instruments of acceptance to 28.
At its second session in 2006, the Conference of the Parties serving as the Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (COP/MOP) adopted an amendment to Annex B to the Protocol by Decision 10/CMP.2, which concerns the proposal of the Republic of Belarus to amend Annex B to the Kyoto Protocol and to assume a quantified emission reduction commitment.
