IPPC Publishes Comments on Phytosanitary Standards

The International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) Secretariat has released a compilation of comments and formal objections submitted by Member States on draft International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPMs).

IPPC7 March 2012: In preparation for the seventh session of the Commission on Phytosanitary Measures (CPM), the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) has published a compilation of comments and formal objections by Member States on draft International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPMs).

The comments concern draft ISPMs on: integrated measures for the production of plants for planting in international trade; a systems approach for pest risk management of fruit flies; and several attachments to the Glossary of Phytosanitary Terms.

CPM is the governing body of the IPPC. Its seventh session will take place from 19-23 March 2012, at the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) headquarters in Rome, Italy. [IPPC Press Release]
