The International Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) Elimination Network (IPEN) has released a newsletter spotlighting Central and Eastern European members' activities.

The newsletter includes information about nongovernmental organization (NGO) activities in Albania, Belarus, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Macedonia and Serbia.

ipen6 August 2014: The International Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) Elimination Network (IPEN) has released a newsletter spotlighting Central and Eastern European members’ activities. The newsletter includes information about nongovernmental organization (NGO) activities in Albania, Belarus, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Macedonia and Serbia.

Activities highlighted include: the Serbia Substitutes project, which promotes substitution of hazardous chemicals with safer alternatives in Serbian industry; the work of Czech experts from the Institute of Chemical Technology and Arnika in gathering and analyzing samples from pollution hot spots in Kazakhstan; and an international conference on chemical safety and sustainable lifestyles that took place in Minsk, Belarus.
