IPEN Highlights Chemicals and Wastes Activities in Africa

In the latest issue of its 'Anglophone Africa' newsletter, the International POPs Elimination Network (IPEN) provides an extensive update on current and recent chemical and wastes activities undertaken across the region.

ipenApril 2014: In the latest issue of its ‘Anglophone Africa’ newsletter, the International POPs Elimination Network (IPEN) provides an extensive update on current and recent chemical and wastes activities undertaken across the region.

Projects spotlighted include: the University of Cape Town’s activities on sound chemicals management; Pesticide Action Network Ethiopia’s activities on e-waste; Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management (SAICM) activities in East Africa; waste management in Tanzania; lead awareness activities in Nigeria and Tanzania; Uganda Network on Toxic Free Mercury Control activities; and NGO activities in Burundi.
