7 May 2008 : The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) will hold an expert meeting on estimating emissions and removals of greenhouse gases from land uses such as agriculture and forestry.

The meeting, which will convene in Helsinki, Finland, from 13-15 May 2008, will bring together experts to consider the current IPCC guidance on estimating emissions and removals to determine if additional guidance or clarification could be given to assist inventory compilers. The meeting will cover all IPCC guidance: the revised 1996 IPCC Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories, the 2003 IPCC Good Practice Guidance for Land Use, Land-Use Change and Forestry (LULUCF) and the 2006 IPCC Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories.
