The Second Meeting of the Swiss-Indonesian Country Led Initiative to Improve the Effectiveness of the Basel Convention convened from 12-15 January 2010, in Wildhaus, Switzerland.

Participants discussed: an analysis of possible reasons for the transboundary movement of hazardous wastes where environmentally sound management cannot be ensured; a draft paper containing a preliminary analysis of the transboundary movements of hazardous wastes impacts on human health and the environment; and potential approaches for a way forward to improve the effectiveness of the Convention.
