Indonesia Accepts Doha Amendment

The UNFCCC Secretariat has informed that Indonesia has accepted the Doha Amendment, which formalizes commitments for the second commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol (2013-2020).

Indonesia Flag1 October 2014: The UNFCCC Secretariat has informed that Indonesia has accepted the Doha Amendment, which formalizes commitments for the second commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol (2013-2020). This announcement brings the total number of parties that have deposited their instruments of acceptance to 18.

By depositing its instrument of acceptance to the Depositary on 30 September 2014, Indonesia joins Bangladesh, Barbados, China, Djibouti, the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), Honduras, Kenya, Mauritius, Mexico, Monaco, Morocco, Norway, Peru, Singapore, Solomon Islands, Sudan, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), all of whom have ratified the amendment.

The Doha Amendment to the Protocol was adopted by decision 1/CMP.8 at the eighth session of the Conference of the Parties serving as the Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (CMP 8), which took place in Doha, Qatar, from 26 November to 8 December 2012.
