ILC11 November 2013: In recognition of the upcoming 2014 International Year of Family Farming, the International Land Coalition (ILC) has launched a special call for research proposals that explore the links between family farming and people-centered land governance, particularly research that explores the role of land rights as a central component of farming and small-scale food production.

The projects will: identify land governance norms that respond to the needs of family farming; and contribute to a better definition of family farming under different contexts. The proposals should address one or more of the following areas: production; diversity and sustainability; women; indigenous and mobile livelihood systems; and youth.

Awards will be for grants of $8,000. The deadline for proposals is 22 November 2013, and research will be published in May 2014, with support from the ILC on linking work to the International Year of Family Farming. [ILC Press Release] [Call for Proposals]
