11 June 2010: The International Energy Agency’s (IEA) Greenhouse Gas Research and Development Program (IEAGHG) has released its newest Greenhouse Issues newsletter, which focuses on carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects, regulations and industry.

In one of two articles on CCS potential in Africa, after introducing new members and sponsors of the IEAGHG , the 98th volume of Greenhouse Issues introduces a CCS project in Algeria where over 3.2 million tons of CO2 have been successfully stored since 2004. Other highlights include a discussion of recommendations to the US Government on a consistent and predictable regulatory framework for CCS, the announcement of the first masters program in CCS, summaries of numerous CCS-related conferences and reviews of new CCS-related books.
