The 2011 annual report for the Photovoltaic Power Systems Programme (PVPS) of the International Energy Agency (IEA) highlights activities on both technical and non-technical collaborative projects.

4 May 2012: The Photovoltaic Power Systems Programme (PVPS) of the International Energy Agency (IEA) has published the annual report for 2011, which details progress on PVPS outreach, tasks and activities in member countries.

The annual report for 2011 reviews the technical and non-technical collaborative projects of IEA PVPS relating to technology and performance assessment, cost reduction, best practices, grid integration, environmental aspects and more. In addition, the annual report features status reports on tasks, including: the exchange and dissemination of information on photovoltaic (PV) power systems; very large scale PV power generation; PV services deployment for regional development; hybrid systems installation within mini-grids; PV environmental health and safety activities; performance and reliability of PV systems; high penetration PV in electricity grids; and the status and prospects of PV in the twenty-six PVPS member countries. Finally, the report reviews completed tasks, including: performance and reliability analyses of PV systems; PV systems in stand-alone, island and urban-scale applications; design and operation of modular PV plants; and more.
