© IEA14 October 2009: The International Energy Agency (IEA) is holding a two-day ministerial-level event in Paris, France, from 14-15 October 2009, themed “Responding to Energy Challenges in Partnership.”

The event brings together energy ministers from IEA’s 28 member States to discuss intertwined energy and environmental issues.
Ministerial discussions are focusing on: comprehensive energy security; enhancing the global energy dialogue; and actions for a sustainable energy future. The event coincides with the IEA’s 35th anniversary, which will be honored with speeches by two of the organization’s founding fathers to discuss the IEA’s past, present and future roles: Henry Kissinger and Viscount Etienne Davignon. In addition, Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), Rajendra K. Pachauri, will present a keynote speech on the creation of a cleaner, more efficient energy future.
