IEA Hosts Second Meeting of CCS Regulators Network

The meeting updated participants on legal and regulatory changes in CCS around the world. The two-day meeting consisted of presentations from governments, international organizations, businesses and NGOs. Most presentations outlined energy needs of presenting countries and summarized the how CCS fits into their legal and regulatory systems. BP presented the technical side of the role of business and WWF represented civil society. The meeting concluded with a presentation of a model legal and regulatory framework presented by the IEA to help governments in formulating adequate systems for the rapid development of CCS in their countries.
