IDB Funds Sanitation and Drainage Works in Uruguay

A US$9 million loan from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) will support water quality in Cuidad de la Costa, Uruguay.

The loan will support an integrated sanitation programme for the city being implemented by the National Water Supply and Sanitation Administration (OSE) of Uruguay.

The programme includes a waterwater treatment plant and sewage and drainage network expansion.

IDB28 September 2012: The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) will provide a US$9 million loan to Uruguay to fund sanitation and drainage works to improve water quality and reduce flood risk in Ciudad de la Costa, Uruguay.

The loan will support an integrated sanitation programme for the city being implemented by the National Water Supply and Sanitation Administration (OSE) of Uruguay. The programme includes a waterwater treatment plant and sewage and drainage network expansion. By expanding the sewage system, the project is expected to improve coastal water quality and is also expected to strengthen OSE as an institution. [IDB Press Release]
