World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF)November 2014: The World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) has published a compendium of abstracts from the Third World Congress on Agroforestry, which convened under the theme, ‘Trees for Life – Accelerating the Impact of Agroforestry.’ The publication contains 1,051 abstracts from oral and poster presentations.

Abstracts cover each of the 31 sessions of the Congress, addressing a range of topics such as land reclamation and biofuels. A number of abstracts consider the role of agroforestry in improving incomes and livelihoods, while agroforestry’s contribution to food and nutrition security is also a common theme. Abstracts are also presented from the “South-Asia Day” with a specific regional focus.

Abstracts are organized under six key headings: agroforestry systems, income and environmental benefits; climate change, multi-functionality, livestock and fish systems; the business of agroforestry; sustaining development through agroforestry; applying science to the future of agroforestry; and policy innovation and global issues.

The Third World Congress on Agroforestry was held the 10-13 February 2014, in New Delhi, India. ICRAF is part of the CGIAR Consortium. [Publication: World Congress on Agroforestry Delhi – 2014: Compendium of Abstracts] [Meeting Website]
