27 July 2009: The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) held a “Workshop on IAEA Tools for Nuclear Energy System Assessment for Long-Term Planning and Development” from 20-23 July 2009, in Vienna, Austria.

The event brought together 50 experts from over 40 countries, who were provided an overview of IAEA technical cooperation activities and how the Agency helps its developing country members to plan for and achieve the development of a sustainable nuclear power sector that can help meet their rising energy demand.
