IAAI Launches Rio+20 Global Youth Music Contest

The International Association for the Advancement of Innovative Approaches to Global Challenges (IAAI) has launched the Rio+20 Global Youth Music Contest, which aims to encourage youth to express their hopes, concerns and thoughts on the future of the earth through music.

Music video entries should encourage governments and stakeholders attending Rio+20 to adopt a common agreement to ensure implementation of sustainable development.

4 November 2011: The International Association for the Advancement of Innovative Approaches to Global Challenges (IAAI) has launched the Rio+20 Global Youth Music Contest. The contest is organized by several partners and youth networks ahead of the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20). The contest seeks to encourage youth to express their hopes, concerns and thoughts on the future of the earth, through music.

Music video entries are invited until 15 February 2012 in two categories: children under the age of 14; and youth aged 15-30. The content of the music video entries must be related to at least one of the pillars of sustainable development (environment, economic or social), and should encourage governments and stakeholders attending Rio+20 to adopt a common agreement that will ensure the effective implementation of sustainable development and avoid ongoing degradation of the environment.
