HLP Secretariat Launches Universally Accessible Versions of its Report

In an effort to reinforce the voices of people with disabilities, children and youth in discussions on the post-2015 development agenda, the Secretariat of the UN Secretary-General's High-Level Panel on the Post-2015 Development Agenda (HLP) released an online, interactive version of its report 'A New Global Partnership: Eradicate Poverty and Transform Economies through Sustainable Development,' as well as a Braille version and audio and PDF versions in all six UN languages.

HLP On22 September 2013: In an effort to reinforce the voices of people with disabilities, children and youth in discussions on the post-2015 development agenda, the Secretariat of the UN Secretary-General’s High-Level Panel on the Post-2015 Development Agenda (HLP) released an online, interactive version of its report ‘A New Global Partnership: Eradicate Poverty and Transform Economies through Sustainable Development,’ as well as a Braille, audio and PDF versions in all six UN languages.

The Panel’s report, released in May 2013, sets out a universal agenda to deliver on sustainable development and eradicate extreme poverty by 2030. In line with the Panel’s inclusive approach, the Secretariat designed the report’s additional versions to facilitate opportunities for every person to engage with the report and its recommendations. Since the HLP report’s release, the report has informed debates on the post-2015 agenda around the world.

This report is the first major UN report available in accessible and interactive formats. Paul Polman, Chief Executive Officer, Unilever, and former HLP member, launched the additional versions of the report at the Social Good Summit in New York, US.
