10 August 2010: UN’s Greening the Blue launched a resources section on its website that includes background information needed to move a UN organization towards greater sustainability.

An introduction is given on the UN’s approach to climate neutrality, including general publications regarding the UN’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and mitigation efforts, as well as links to relevant groups and websites. The resources tab also features sections on: buildings, which provides guidance for facility managers in reducing building-related emissions, with links to relevant groups, websites and case studies; meetings, with the Green Meeting Guide that formulates advice on how to reduce the carbon-footprint of meetings; and travel, which outlines ways to reduce the impact of both business travel and commuting, noting that travel is responsible for 50% of the UN’s GHG emissions. A further section features multimedia resources for all UN staff, including wallpapers, posters and powerpoint presentations. [The Resources Section]
