Green Economy Coalition Launches Consultation on Draft Principles of a Green Economy
story highlights

The Green Economy Coalition (GEC) is inviting interested stakeholders to provide their comments and feedback on the nine draft principles of a green economy, which were prepared by Major Groups and stakeholders during the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) Governing Council meeting in February 2012.

March 2012: The Green Economy Coalition (GEC) has launched an online consultation on the nine draft principles of a green economy, ahead of the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20).

The nine draft principles result from the meeting of Major Groups and stakeholders held during the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) Governing Council meeting in February 2012. GEC has launched this consultation to build on the momentum generated by the interest in these principles, and to carry forward the principles to Rio+20. Interested stakeholders are invited to provide their comments and feedback on the principles until the end of April 2012. The next draft principles will then be presented in May 2012, and the final principles will be presented at Rio+20. [Green Economy Coalition Press Release]
