Global Dialogues Mauritius Results in “Harvest Report” on Future Citizens Want
story highlights

The report highlights that the 15 dialogue sessions showed that people want a future based on deep humanity, relatedness to each other and the planet, and belonging within communities that consciously care and grow.

It then outlines what participants identified as helping to achieve this future, such as creativity and focusing on opportunities instead of problems.

July 2012: Global Dialogues Mauritius, a project of the One Future One Planet initiative, has produced the Harvest Report, which compiles the outcomes and feedback from the Global Dialogue sessions held in Mauritius in the run-up to the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20). The Report summarizes participants’ views of the future they want and how to achieve it.

Global Dialogues Mauritius was created to help build sustainable communities around the world. To this end, it held 15 Global Dialogues sessions in Mauritius from 11 February-19 May 2012, which aimed to guide world leaders attending Rio+20 about the kind of future citizens want. Participants discussed their desired future, and what should be changed and acted on to achieve this future. To do this, they took part in a five-step exercise of connecting, envisioning, engaging, reflecting and sharing, with the overall goal of developing a vision for the future they want.
