GGKP Newsletter Invites Input on the Development of New Web Platform

The Green Growth Knowledge Platform (GGKP) has released the February issue of its “Knowledge Update” newsletter, which features a survey to inform the development of GGKP's new web platform.

This issue also includes information on research, tools and initiatives associated with the GGKP network, including stories on the links between energy efficiency finance and climate change, options for a Sustainable Energy Trade Agreement, mainstreaming the value of water and wetlands into decision making and more.

27 February 2013: The Green Growth Knowledge Platform (GGKP) has released the February issue of its “Knowledge Update” newsletter, which features a survey to inform the development of GGKP’s new web platform. This issue also includes information on research, tools and initiatives associated with the GGKP network, including stories on the links between energy efficiency finance and climate change, options for a Sustainable Energy Trade Agreement, mainstreaming the value of water and wetlands into decision making and more.

The GGKP newsletter features the latest research of GGKP network members, including: notice of two OECD reports on how fossil fuel subsidy and tax reform can benefit countries both economically and environmentally; two reports by the International Energy Agency (IEA) on climate finance and energy efficiency; publications on indicators for the environmental and social impact of production, consumption and trade by the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission; The Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity (TEEB) new report titled “TEEB for Water and Wetlands;” and more.

Among the tools and initiatives highlighted by the newsletter are: The Partnership for Action on Green Economy (PAGE), launched by UNEP, ILO, UNIDO and UNITAR last week to support select countries in building national green economy strategies; a global database for green economy policies and initiatives developed by UN DESA in the lead up to Rio+20; UNEP’s Global SCP Clearinghouse, a platform dedicated to advancing Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) worldwide through regional or thematic communities dedicated to SCP; and a new website on Climate Change and Green Growth by the Development Research Center of China’s State Council (DRC).
