GEF Reports on Support for Non-Annex I Parties National Communications

The UNFCCC Secretariat has released a note detailing the financial support provided by the GEF for the preparation of initial and subsequent national communications from non-Annex I Parties, including various SIDS.

The note will be considered by the the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI) at its 36th session.

GEF20 April 2012: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released a note containing information on financial support provided by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) for the preparation of national communications from Parties not included in Annex I to the Convention (CCC/SBI/2012/INF.7).

The note details of the financial support provided by the GEF for the preparation of initial and subsequent national communications from Parties not included in Annex I to the Convention (non-Annex I Parties). Annexed to the note is a table, which provides details of the status of enabling activity projects, including preparation of the initial, second and subsequent national communications of non-Annex I Parties and the dates of approval and disbursement of funds. The table includes information on financial support provided by the GEF to the following small island developing States (SIDS): Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Bahrain, Barbados, Belize, Cape Verde, Comoros, Cook Islands, Cuba, Dominica, the Dominican republic, Fiji, Grenada, Guyana, Guinea Bissau, Haiti, Jamaica, Kiribati, Madagascar, Maldives, Marshall Islands, Mauritius, the Federated States of Micronesia, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Samoa, São Tome and Principe, Seychelles, Solomon Islands, Suriname, Timor-Leste, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.

The note will be considered by the the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI) at its 36th session, scheduled to take place from 14-25 May 2012, in Bonn, Germany. [The Note on Financial Support Provided by the GEF]
