GEF IW:LEARN Launches Project Manager’s Manual
story highlights

GEF IW:LEARN has launched a Project Managers Manual (PMM) with the goal to assist partners and practitioners to learn and share successful experiences on water management.

The PMM is composed of a detailed guidance for each stage of a water project cycle, including information on: monitoring and evaluation; communications strategy; and private sector engagement.

November 2012: A recent edition of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) International Waters Learning and Resource Network (IW:LEARN) bulletin reports on the launch of a Project Manager’s Manual (PPM) for water projects, which aims to assist over 2000 practitioners.

The PMM is composed of a detailed guidance for each stage of a water project cycle, including information on: monitoring and evaluation; communications strategy; and private sector engagement. It contains a comprehensive section about project experiences, functioning as a learning platform and a tool for replicating successful cases on water management. The PMM responds to the perception that a move from an experience-sharing approach to focus on learning needs is required.

To encourage interaction, water stakeholders can find in the IW-LEARN website a glossary of key terms, a document library and the full PDF version of the PMM. [Publication: Project Management Manual]
