December 2010: During the month of December 2010, Monique Barbut, Global Environment Facility (GEF) CEO, endorsed several biodiversity-related projects, prior to their final adoption and implementation by GEF Agencies.

Full-sized projects endorsed include: a wetlands conservation project in Sierra Leone; sustainable forest, biodiversity and water management in Ecuador’s Ibarra-San Lorenzo Corridor; strengthening the conservation role of Togo’s national system of protected areas; integrating the sustainable management of fauna corridors into Niger’s protected area system; strengthening Seychelles’ protected area system through NGO management modalities; and development of national monitoring and control system for living modified organisms and invasive alien species in Cameroon.
