23 April 2010:The G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors met on 23 April 2010 in Washington DC, US, to discuss the global economic recovery and the transition to a strong, sustainable and balanced growth.
According to the resulting Communiqué, Ministers and Governors stressed the importance of providing those in need with essential energy services, and recommitted to prepare strategies and timetables for a meeting in June 2010 to rationalize and phase out, over the medium term, fossil fuel subsidies that encourage wasteful consumption.
