Francophone Climate Negotiations Bulletin Takes Stock of Paris Outcome

The International Institute for Sustainable Development's Reporting Services (IISD RS) has released the final French language bulletin in a series that focused on the 21st session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 21) to the UNFCCC, which convened in Paris, France, in November-December 2015.

The seventh bulletin takes stock of the Paris Agreement and accompanying COP decision.

IISD RS - OIF - IFDD - Senghor University22 December 2015: The International Institute for Sustainable Development’s Reporting Services (IISD RS) has released the final French language bulletin in a series that focused on the 21st session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 21) to the UNFCCC, which convened in Paris, France, in November-December 2015. The seventh bulletin takes stock of the Paris Agreement and accompanying COP decision.

The bulletin is published by the International Organization of the Francophonie (OIF), through its subsidiary body, the Institute for Sustainable Development of the Francophonie (IFDD), in partnership with IISD RS, Médiaterre and Senghor University.

This seventh issue provides an overview of the strengths and weaknesses of the main topics covered by the Paris Agreement and its accompanying COP decision, namely: preamble; objective; mitigation; adaptation; loss and damage; finance; capacity building; technology; and stocktake. The bulletin also contains a summary of recent meetings and other news related to the climate negotiations, and a timeline of key events scheduled to take place in 2016.
