More than 100 international experts, many of them development and trade specialists, convened in Washington, DC, US, on 14 February 2008 to discuss illegal logging at Forest Trends 2nd Annual Potomac Forum on Illegal Logging and Associated Trade.

The Forum focused on issues pertinent to North American organizations, businesses and markets, including developments in both exporting and importing of wood products. Participants learned of US legislative amendments to stop imports of illegal wood and bilateral agreements on illegal logging and forest governance.
