Water Cooperation 2013 has issued its first newsletter highlighting the kick-off event for the International Year of Water Cooperation and World Water Day 2013, which will take place on 11 February 2013, in Paris, France.
The newsletter invites people to engage in the Year and Day by voting on the Year's slogan, sharing photos through the campaign Flickr group, and organizing Walking for Water events in their communities.
17 December 2012: The first newsletter issued by Water Cooperation 2013, the UN-Water World Water Day 2013 and International Year of Water Cooperation, calls for participants to vote on the slogan for the International Year of Water Cooperation and World Water Day 2013 before 25 December 2012.
The newsletter also announces that the kick-off meeting will take place on 11 February 2013, in Paris, France, during which the slogan for water cooperation will be adopted. The newsletter also features stories inviting participants to share photos of water cooperation on the World Water Day 2013 Cooperation Flickr group, and organizing Walking for Water events. Designed to raise awareness, Walking for Water 2013 will encourage children aged 10-15 to walk six kilometers carrying six liters of water on 22 March, World Water Day, to raise awareness of and funds to address water challenges.
