FAO, UN-REDD Launch “REDD+ for Food Security” Photo Competition

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) in collaboration with the UN Collaborative Programme on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation in Developing Countries (UN-REDD) launched a photo competition on the theme "Nurture forests for the future - REDD+ for Food Security."

18 March 2013: The Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO), in collaboration with the UN Collaborative Programme on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation in Developing Countries (UN-REDD), launched a photo competition on the theme “Nurture forests for the future – REDD+ for Food Security.”

The competition is being held as a part of the International Conference on Forests for Food Security and Nutrition and in celebration of the fifth anniversary of UN-REDD. It aims to raise awareness of how REDD+ can contribute benefits for food security, biodiversity, alternative livelihood options, good governance and sustainable land management.

The winner of the competition will be awarded a photo mission with FAO and have his/her work exhibited on the National Geographic Italy website. The deadline for submission is 25 April 2013. [FAO Press Release]
