FAO Releases Guidelines on Managing Pesticide Resistance

The guidelines focus on the management of resistance to chemical pesticides in agriculture in insects, weeds, fungal diseases, and rodents.

FAO3 October 2012: The Food and Agricultural Organization of the UN (FAO) has released a publication providing assistance to scientific, technical, and policy experts preparing or evaluating pesticide resistance management plans. The publication, titled “Guidelines on Prevention and Management of Pesticide Resistance,” also is meant for pesticide regulators who assess the risk of resistance development during registration of new pesticides.
